About Us!

About Brian

Born and raised in Central New Jersey, I was called to missions in my teenage years. For my first 3 and a half years of my college career, I lived in Guadalajara, Mexico and Managua, Nicaragua working under the Assemblies of God Engage program (Engage is an opportunity for college students to work alongside career missionaries while pursuing their degree for 1 to 2 years). After my first two years I graduated from the program and was later asked to serve on staff in Nicaragua helping train other students in cross-cultural ministry. Over these years I was not only better equipped to live a life of missions but my lifetime calling to Colombia was clarified.

About Raquel

Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, I was called to missions when I was 12, on my first mission trip to the Navajo Indians of New Mexico. When I was 16, I felt God call me to be a missionary to a Latin American country. For the first two years of my college career, I attended Montclair State University as a Spanish and Elementary Education major. During what would have been my Junior year, I decided to take a year off to improve my Spanish and do missions work as a student via the program, Engage Nicaragua. While I was there God clarified my calling: to work with unreached people groups. After the year, I went back to Montclair State University to finish my degree.

About Us!

We met in Nicaragua, through the program Engage International. Brian was a leader and Raquel was a student. We became great friends. (What are the odds that two people from New Jersey would meet in Nicaragua?)
Raquel knew Brian was going to be a missionary to Colombia. While in Nicaragua working alongside Brian, God revealed to her more specifically about working with indigenous people. It seemed, her calling was growing to match his everyday. However, at the end of the year, she went back to the U.S to finish my college degree and Brian stayed in Nicaragua. About five months later, Brian moved back to New Jersey to begin fundraising, and about 4 months after that, we began dating.

Fast Forward about a year later, we are engaged to be married (August 2015!!), Raquel is finishing up her Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Education, Brian is acting as an interim youth pastor at a church  AND we are currently raising support to be fully appointed missionaries with the Assemblies of God to Colombia! We are so excited for what God has for the country of Colombia and excited to go and respond to the burden the Lord placed on our hearts: to reach the least reached of Colombia!
